Why does Maker's Mark get so much shit on here? It's a perfectly solid bourbon, ideal for getting into bourbon really. Sure it's not as good as Woodford, but imo it's a step up from Wild Turkey 101

>> No.13865277

It's not a step up from WT it's just entirely different WT is high rye where as makers is a wheated bourbon and has no rye at all in the mash bill.

Wheated Bourbons taste sweet which is why swill like pappy's is pppular

Same reason anything gets shit on here: It's popular. Of the few bourbons I've tried Maker's is one of the yummier ones and makes a bangin' Old Fashoned too.
Related, took delivery of these two beauts today, trying to decide which one to try first.

It's impossible not to like Woodford, unless you just really hate sweet drinks I guess. You might not find it super exciting because of how neutral the flavour profile is, but it's still undeniably a good, easy to drink bourbon. Stop being an elitist faggot

But everybody here hypes Wild Turkey.

I'm totally finde with MM although it's alittle sweet. Best bourbon if you wanna introduce people (especially women), who never had whiskey in their live.

I get people lit at my summer bbq’s including the wives. Wild Turkey 101 & lemonade. None of the women claim to have ever tried or like bourbon, but they start asking for more once they try one. I usually start adding a little more each drink. Everyone’s flying after a couple.

Why would you think it's fake and why would you care? The wax is real and it was the founder's wife's idea to make it stand out. Seems like it worked.
