I think you're misunderstanding my point. Mayo as a standalone condiment is terrible and only holds up when mixed with something. If you put mayo in a dish, you're not putting it in there so the mayo can shine, you're putting it in there because the mayo contributes something.

If I ever get a McChicken, I ask for no mayo and some honey mustard or some other sauce to put on it. Hell, sometimes I keep the mustard and add other sauces. It works better that way. It does NOT work well alone.
