A breakfast sandwich with coffee and fruit. Make a batch of flaky biscuits and pile on sage and fennel sausage patties cooked crispy, a slice of melty American cheese, a fried egg, and your hot sauce of choice. Wash and de-stem a few strawberries and a handful of blueberries and put them in a bowl. Boil some water, grind some light-roast beans, and load up the french press for some fresh coffee.

For best results, consume on a weekend morning with the paper or whatever book you're currently reading while sitting in the light of the rising sun. Bonus points for a loyal pup curled up at your feet.

When foreigners look at the beans they expect burrito or chilli beans. Pinto, black, kidney beans.

The ones in Heinz baked beans are haricot beans which are super soft, take the sauce well and just mush the fuck up in your mouth.

They are little more than a fiber vehicle for the tomato sauce.

Personally on a full english I will have:
2/3 meat items (sausage, bacon, black pudding)
1 potato item (chips, hash brown, homefries)
1 tomato item (ketchup, grill, chopped, beans)
2 eggs (scrambled, fried, poached)
1 bread (toast, fried bread, muffin)

The beauty of the full english is that it's a collection of items that conform to the idea that it represents all areas of nutrition and gives you plenty to get through the day.
You can chop and change what you have but if it doesn't have something to account for everything it's not a full english.

actually come to think of it its a bit regionally altered.
its the same basic principle, eggs, grilled tomato, toast, beans, and a few different types of breakfast meat all grilled up, but the meats change area to area. places with a bigger slav heritage (usually ukrainain) will sub out bangers for kielbasa (koobie), and sub out black pudding with paprika bacon. the maratimes will have thick cut fried bologna. and so on.

Fried eggs (liquid yolk) (Irish butter, S&P, paprika)
Fried/grilled tomatoes (roma?) (Olive Oil, S&P)
Fried mushrooms (Irish butter, S&P, fresh herbs?)
Strong black tea

Meat and carbs as desired.

Nothing quite like a grilled goddamn tomato. Them char-marks. With a pan, I usually just make thick slices and sear the shit out of them on high for a short time. Seems to work better with smaller tomatoes.

3. As a tourist I ate like a pig out there, as you're pretty much never more than 5 metres from a cheap, delicious street food stall. Even when I got lost in the suburbs of KL there was banging fried chicken and Satay.

A few different options than the standard bacon and eggs that I would get from time to time

Italian sausage, peppers, onions, eggs and mozzarella on a french roll. I'd get this from a fast food/italian place that was also open for breakfast.

Gyros, feta, bacon, and onion omelette with greek potatoes. I've seen gyros omelettes occasionally but they should be more widespread. greek potatoes for breakfast are pretty based too.

As far basic breakfast goes can't go wrong with ham steak, three eggs, hash browns and toast. throw in a fruit salad.
