I've never reheated food before, but now do to scheduling It makes a lot of sense to. Can I reheat things like chicken breast and potatoes in a microwave? Will I get salmonela or something?

what

Chicken tends to turn hard and rubbery in the microwave. Potatoes will be fine though.

yeah but chicken sucks in the microwave. make sure when you make the chicken its dry with lots of sauce so it comes out good when reheated

I don't need food to taste good, just something I can take with me that won't kill me

You've never brought home leftovers and reheated them in the microwave?

How do people even have leftovers? When I cook something, I eat all of it.

Pretty much every day of my life. I eat my fill and set the rest aside.

I'm from /fit/
I need to hit certain macros and chicken + potatoes is one of my three big meals that does so while being very economic

Well pick another meal to bring to work, because chicken and microwaves don't play nice together.
Hell, there are even preparations of chicken that can be eaten cold. Did that occur to you?

>> No.13771464

just eat the chicken cold

I wouldn't eat leftover chicken at all. It tastes fucking weird.

>> No.13771494

Chicken isn't even that bad in the microwave. Toss it in for three minutes with a tbsp of added water for moisture and you're good to go.

you can microwave them for a shorter amount of time like 30 seconds if you really want to but the longer you do it the worse it'll be and microwaves vary, especially burned out communal ones at workplaces

Yeah, but then would it matter? I mean I care mostly about the protein. If I'm taking 200g of breast anyway what's the point of the rest of it?

Yea.
You get like 2 days that the raw chicken is good, and about 5 where cooked chicken is still good.
If you buy washed potatoes and cut them up you can cook them in the microwave, so I wouldn't bother reheating them. Also reheated potatoes are not great.

Teriyaki chicken with rice is more traditional. Rice reheats well.
