How TF do I cook spinach and make it taste and look good? It always looks like green vomit, what can help with the flavor?

>> No.13769744

Maybe cook something different if you don't like spinach. Or don't cook at all and make salad out of it.

>> No.13769748

blitz it into a paste then use it to make pasta

I freeze the precut salad bag then add it last minute broken up like a spice. It keeps it better. More like basil or oregano less like slime.

If you don’t like the texture put over something with better texture. I’ll butterfly and pan fry a chicken breast and put cooked spinach on top of it. I mix spinach into hamburger helper, cut it up and put it in the middle of meat loaves with provolone cheese, cook it down in a pan and add eggs for omelets. I’ll seasonin it with some type of salt (soy sauce, slap ya mamma, plain kosher salt) some type of pepper (black pepper, cayenne) and then usually hello onion, garlic, or lemon. But I personally love spinach it is my favorite green and sometimes I just eat handfuls of it raw when I’m hungry.

Eat it raw or put it in a salad bowl, anything else is just no. The leafpaste is neither filling, tasteful, or healthy, it's the serf's survival food tier.

the secret to cooking vegetables and making them taste nice is salt and butter.

>> No.13769804

I eat it raw most the time, just a rinsing. Goes good on sandwiches.

This is what I was looking for, I don't like altering vegetables much, I cook broccoli by dipping it in boiling water for 2 minutes.
>>13769800
But I already am unhealthy, I don't really wanna use butter, how about olive oil?
>>13769804
That's what I've been doing myself but I wanted to eat spinach every day and I don't really eat sandwiches.

Roughly chop it and wilt it with bacon, onions and garlic.

>> No.13769836

use flour butter heavy creme salt and garlic

>> No.13769884

spinach is quite good in omelets, and it wilts with the heat and shrinks down quite a bit, so you can use a lot.

Butter in skillet, cook some minced garlic for a bit (or even use powder if you're lazy) salt and pepper and saute for a minute until it wilts some. Enjoy. I usually cook large batches and place some in small bowls to throw into my eggs.

What do you have against a big mouthful of wet hot savory brothy spinach? Just put it into some chicken or beef stew and watch a metric assload of spinach shrink into a pint

very lightly saute it with garlic. Get the pan hot, hit it with cold oil, toss both in for like 45 seconds and keep it moving. If it wilts too much its awful. You want it to just be starting to shrink.

After that hit it with some salt and pepper.

Garlic, toasted sesame (oil and/or seeds), maybe some beef flavoring, e.g., bouillon, and dark, possibly sweet soy sauce. Basic japchae kinda flavors.

Garlic and cream. Usually I'll make it into a pasta sauce or blitz it into a protein shake as it's kinda boring in terms of flavour and texture.

There is always a sticky bitter aftertaste about my spinach whenever I make it. Usually sauteed with olive oil, salt and pepper. Is there anything that can counteract this or is it just fate?
