You know how italians supposedly react if you show them an american pizza.
What food from your country do you get offended at when foreigners try to imitate?
For Spain, its paella

Fairy bread. It has to be made with margarine, not fucking butter (even some Australians get this wrong). You need to use proper spherical hundreds and thousands, too, not any of those weird shapes, and a proper range of colours. How is it fairy bread without the colours? Finally, MASS PRODUCED WHITE BREAD, you stupid cunts. It's amazing how often I see people get this wrong. White bread from the local Vietnamese bread shop gets a pass because it's cheaper so that's understandable, but mass produced is so much better. And don't cut the crusts off. Puts hair on your chest.

Costco's isn't terrible (I assume you mean their maple syrup, not some "table syrup"), but it's weak. There's different grades of maple syrup that have different amounts of maple flavor, and the stuff Costco uses is fairly light.

I've never had bad maple syrup, because it's maple-flavored sugar water and is hard to fuck up. But it's definitely different than table syrup. Idk if it's the corn syrup that gives it the wrong flavor, or lack of maple, or not sweet enough, or some combo, but it just isn't comparable. It's a different product, not a knock off. Like comparing potatoes with sweet potatoes.

tl;dr Costco's real maple syrup is actually real maple syrup and tastes good, but you get what you pay for: mass-produced, inoffensive flavor.

Mulce or sweet blod sausages
every house had its own way of making them, the general recepie is:

pigs blood, sugar, raisins, flour, rice or soaked breadcrumbs, pine nuts and then different stuff for flavour- chocolate, lemons, apples, spices,...

you'd cook the rice, then add all the other ingridients, cook them untill you get a thick consistency, and then eat this straight away or make sausages.

Everytime I've been overseas the burgers and BBQ are trash. I don't like to eat american food when in another country but I'll try it once out of curiosity. They manage to fuck it up every time, makes we wonder if making real american food in asia or some shit would be lucrative. I ate at whoopi goldburger in Tokyo, it was pretty cool but the burger was basically a salad sandwich. They also had mash potatoes as a side which was weird

I know America bastardizes other cuisines, I'm interested to know if that goes both ways.

are you not doing fries because no fryer? they are pretty mandatory with burgers. if I ever eat coleslaw with burgers it's usually at a backyard bbq, I'd suggest grilling burgers over fire if you're only gonna serve coleslaw with them. do like one traditional burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, american cheese, maybe pickles and then a burger sauce made of ketchup/mayo/mustard. Could also do a bbq style one with bbq sauce, Swiss/provolone/cheddar, and preferably battered onions but that would be a problem if you don't have a fryer.

idk what drinks besides soda or beer

i live in southeast louisiana. it's nonna's fucking red sauce all over again. i've had boiled seafood, etouffe, gumbo, jambalaya, fried chicken, fish and a million other bullshit regional foods, all prepared differently, some were good, some were terrible, but one thing i cannot fucking stand is the people who act like they've has their shoes pissed on because they were served bread pudding with gold instead of black raisins or red beans in the jackets instead or creamed.
