I’m on day 16 of my diet. I didn’t eat all day and then got this for dinner. What is it about this process that fat people cant understand?

Basal metabolic rate lowers during and after periods of fasting. Your "calories out" are now lower, even when engaging in the same activities. Fast-and-binge is not practical nor sustainable weight loss.

>> No.13751130

>>13750844
No, it doesn't vary by enough for that to have more than a marginal effect. Fast and binge is perfectly reasonable for quick weight loss, wrestlers have been doing it for years.

Sticking a garbage bag under your sweatshirt and running treadmill for four hours is also how wrestlers lose weight fast. It's not practical or sustainable and lets them get back up after the weigh-in.

the exact opposite is true for short term fasting, short being less than 4 days. stop talking out of your ass boy

>> No.13751744

>>13750819
True, calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight, regardless of how you do it. However, weight loss doesnt necessarily correlate to health. Though OP can lose weight like this he should consider healthier food choices imo.

>> No.13751745

>>13750844
Your bmr actually only decreases after long periods of fasting, short fasting periods such as 16, 24, or 36 hours can actually promote weight loss and promote a healthier body by decreasing your risk for heart disease. I fast 3 days a week and eat like an animal the other 4 days of the week, couple this with weight lifting and you can really start shedding the fat.

this works but leaves you skinnyfat

It's totally practical. I always did that and I've been able to sustain a BMI 24 for all my life. Plus it's now recommended by more and more doctors.
Doesn't mean you have to eat something disgusting everyday like OP, but theoretically you can without gaining weight.

Calories in, calories out doesn't work for *most* fast food. Here's why.

Fast food is made to be cheap. This means fat and oils. The buns and crusts from low quality restaurants are made of oil and fats, not grains. Let alone the shitty meat.

Chipotle and (kind of) Subway are ok because it's actual food.

Do not try to cheat the system. Fast food, even using calories in/calories out, will make you fat. Eat real foods when possible, fill the gaps with healthy frozen. Fast food is a last option or occasional indulgence.

>Fast food is made to be cheap. This means fat and oils. The buns and crusts from low quality restaurants are made of oil and fats, not grains. Let alone the shitty meat.
so how does that stop calories in calories out from working?

>> No.13753926

>>13753904
This makes no sense. Calories in calories out still applies. Eating fast food garbage will just make you feel like shit, and it's not satisfying or filling at all. Buns from fast food places are still made from wheat you fucking idiot. It's just the lowest quality ingredients possible made in the most industrialized mass produced way. If fast food buns were literally just globs of fat then ketards would be downing them left and right. And they'd lose weight doing it as long as they consume fewer calories than they burn.

>> No.13753984

>>13753914
Fats and oils, in proportion, are essential for life. What makes fast food a problem is the large amount of fats and oils.

A calorie is a unit of energy. So you may wonder "What's the difference between a calorie of fat, a calorie of protein, or a calorie of carbs?" And you're right. There's no difference in ENERGY. But what makes you fat from fast food is the metabolic pathway

Fat molecules are immediately stored as fat. Other molecules are broken down, used where necessary, and the rest is ALSO stored as fat. Stored fat appears as good ol' "fat" on your stomach, legs, face, etc. The process is called glycogenesis.

Why is this not common knowledge? Because McDonalds and friends have a powerful lobby. They make money themselves of course, but they also employ lots of people who could not work otherwise. So they strike a balance. The food is pretty awful, but they notify everybody that it is (mandated nutrition facts) and offer a few alternatives. But yeah no it's literally shit that food scientists made palatable. No nutrition.

>> No.13753997

>>13753984
none of this stops calories in from calories out from working

Sounds like garbage 90's mom science meant to deceive people into thinking they aren't fat due to eating TOO MUCH. Stop eating TOO MUCH. You can lose weight on fast food. You can lose weight on twinkies. You can lose weight eating anything. It won't be nutritious to eat 1200 calories of twinkies per day and only that, but you'll lose weight even though sugar is digested even faster than fat you FAT RETARD.

Try this shit when you're over 35 and working full time and raising a family.

Just eating a balanced diet, cutting back on sugar, and alcohol and going for a jog three times a week is all someone needs.
Although it's quite tough since I've had hereditary gout when I was 19... but it did set me straight in eating right.

My 60 year old mom, 4'11" (very low metabolism) who is still working full time and taking care of her lazy NEET son (me) lost 80 pounds eating one meal a day, often of just random crap she'd pick up at fast stores on the way home. She also would walk about an hour day, light power walking. She slowly cut out antidepressants and completely reversed her dangerous pre-diabetic condition. Bloodwork is better than it has been her ENTIRE life. Healthier and happier than in decades and she's working her way up to a half marathon soon.
