I don't think you'll have any issues with food especially since people don't seem to be buying produce and meat so if you know how to cook you'll be fine. I went to the store today and didn't look at hand sanitizer and stuff but everything seemed in stock plenty. I went to buy bread flour and the flour section was mostly cleaned out but that might just be coincidence. The main thing I've heard people complaining about is the cleaning supplies and toilet paper being hard to find.

You should have supplies for about 2 weeks anyway.
Prepping for some quarantine or natural disaster is always a good idea. Just don't take it too far like these doomsday wankers. If you need supplies for more than one month chances are you will be killed for them by hungry mob anyway.

The reason they want people stocking up on food isn't really because there's going to be a potential food shortage, it's because if you suddenly get sick and have to stay at home for two weeks for quarantine they want you to already have the food you need just in case.
