Sugar doesn't cause diabetes. It's the other way around. Diabetics can't handle sugar after they break their bodies from getting overweight. Normal healthy people don't have problems processing sugar, and it's your overall calorie intake that will determine your weight and subsequent risk for diabetes.

It's not wrong. Switching to diet soda has always been a lazy fat person technique for avoiding their real problems by focusing on the hundred or so calories they were drinking while ignoring the thousands of calories in excess of what's needed for a healthy weight that they've been eating.

And people follow brand names. It's not "does America really" or "yuropoors do this". It's because of massive money and influence pushing us to do it. Asians get T2 Diabetes as low as 23 BMI and all they eat are carbs with their rice, noodles, and fried foods. China beat the US with more than 100m with diabetes compared to the 30m in the US, so it's not just being overweight. Well Asians sure aren't getting fat from consuming fat. Here's the first link when I google 'do asians have a high fat diet'
https://www.sutterhealth.org/health/nutrition/healthy-south-asian-diet
>“If you have a condition called insulin resistance, which most South Asians have to some degree, excess carbohydrates can’t be utilized by the muscles and are instead redirected to your fat and liver cells, increasing cholesterol production and your chances of serious health problems,” Dr. Sinha says. “Many of my patients who have the most excess body fat are South Asian vegetarians who consume no meat or excess fat in their diet, but instead consume lots of carbohydrates in the form of rice, breads, lentils, beans and starchy vegetables like potatoes.”
I see it a lot in my classes where asians are falling asleep and they claim it's a food coma, nah it's pre-diabetes. Also India has like 60m with diabetes and they're probably half vegetarian.

I follow a very low fat high starch diet. I got no issues. I can filly my stomach with starches, like potatoes and oatmeal, and not gain any weight, and I feel completely fine after a meal. I do not have a food coma.

High fat diets (not all fat diets, like keto, this isn't about keto) cause diabetes. If you eat fried food, pizza, and ice cream all day you're getting diabetes. fructose is also not too good, but if you just eat straight fructose, like eat only fruit, you won't have any issues. it is the fat that wrecks the body. fat is really hard on the pancreas, and fat is calorie rich so it makes you fat, and body fat increases insulin resistance.

>> No.13695419

>>13695376
What's wrong with observations? insulin resistance takes years to develop as does diabetes, you can't force people into an experiment to test whether a high carb diet will make them diabetic.
>Cross-sectional and longitudinal studies show that higher carbohydrate diets are linked to higher prevalence and incidence of T2D. However, the association seems to be stronger in Asian-Indians consuming diets high in carbohydrates and more marked on a background of obesity.
