*ruins your pans*

>> No.13678197

I moved in with my dad, don't have have access to a gas stove anymore. I instead have to deal with this stupid electric coil. I'm getting used to it, but gas is so much more superior. The stove in the house is one of those old ones from GE, I'm considering buying a glass top from Samsung, they appear to have a whole lot more features. So far everything points to the fact everything is better but is glass top really superior, anons? Or should I just buy single induction cooktop? A nice electrical stove from Samsung costs like $6-700, I could get a single cheap induction plate for maybe $50-100.

Cook outside with pic relate it's only $60 Aus so you could find something similar.
Or get a much smaller table one and use it indoors.
$600 plus electric is a lot compared to $60 Plus 3-6 gas refills a year.

??? that doesnt matter to a ceramic stovetop at all. I regularly scrub my cast iron and carbon steel pans under running water and then place the dripping wet pans directly back onto the red hot stove top to dry them out. We have been cooking with that kind of stove top for 40 years in my house (two different kitchens and tops), never had the slightest crack or issue. They dropped something onto it, 100%

Yes, but I'd take it slowly with an empty pot or pan. You dont need more than 800W or 1000 Watt even for stir frying. I am not sure how easily the ceramic coating spalls due to thermal shock but I wouldnt take any chances.
