I've eaten a decent amount of interesting stuff. I had a $100 steak dinner once, and a lobster roll on the coast, and New York pizza (though I was high on a bunch of pills and couldn't really taste it). Philly from Delessandro's or however you spell it. Fancy bagels. French pastries. French art nouveau pasta. Barbecue from those classic barbecue joints in Nashville.

None of it has ever come close to this Chimi. Everything I mention eclipses readily all the other chimis I've eaten-- I've probably been to ten or fifteen different Mexican joints to try similar ones, none have been very good.

I think this place in particular is one of those overlooked hole in the wall joints that food hipsters glom onto. My uncle who's traveled up and down north and south America says its the best Hispanic food he's ever eaten, and he lived in Mexico for a few years.

Drugs can absolutely enhance food. The best thing I've eaten in the last year was pasta from this French restaurant in Cambridge, because an hour or two before I ate it I took an enormous edible and then walked half a mile to get there.

The 2nd or 3rd time I tried Indian food I was on acid. It was fascinating. I tasted every texture individually one at a time, but I didn't know exactly what I was eating. Like, it didn't come together into a single experience. Would not reccomend BBQ though, it clashes horribly with the feelings you get on LSD.

i was in san francisco earlier this year, and it was my first time there so i went to a bunch of different restaurants. picked up a pint of ice cream from a shop called birite. it was fucking unbelievable. a birthday cake ice cream. actual pieces of cake, but not soggy. the ice cream itself was so fucking smooth. no trace of granularity. the first bite i was taken aback. it was like nothing i'd had before. i ate an entire pint, and i could have eaten another.
nothing compares and though i'm happy to have had the experience, there's a sense of loss of innocence, because i know what is possible.

There is a chain called the Keg, it might be like 10 locations, but they had this fucking dip called Santa Fe Chicken dip, I absolutely loved that shit, they took it off the menu and I will never go back. It's kind of hard to find. It's a foodservice item. If you have a GFS or restaurant supply place in your area they might have it or something similar. It makes really good chicken quesadillas as well.
