On the topic of burgers, can somebody tell me why my "home made" aka just a patty out of ground beef always turn out greasy as all hell?
I cook them on a pan with little to no butter and they are always greasier than a fat girl on a hot summer day.

My guess would be that you are using meat with a high fat content. Don't know where you are from but here in Ger, Groundbeef is usually sold with a fat content of 20%, if it is half beef half pork than at around 30%.
You may try to use a little less fat by choosing a cut with lower content and then cut/shred it by yourself. Sure, a meat grinder is a nice tool but you do not need it to make a burger. If you are using a good knife, you may intentionally cut it a little more coarse so that the individual meet particles are able to retain more juice. Just try it out which grinding intensity feels right on your tongue.
