I recently found a grocer that stocks ghost peppers and after tasting one raw, wing sauces that claim to have ghost pepper aren't nearly as hot as just eating one plain. I guess that's the same for literally any peppers, though.

I do hate that spicy foods are now a soyboy meme, though: I developed a taste for spicy stuff to keep people from picking off of my plate.

the only thing i've found that approximates the real thing's spiciness isn't an actual sauce but pepperoncino flakes in olive oil.
if you get a non-spicy sauce and add a teaspoon of that stuff in, you'll get the proper burn guaranteed. and without the acidity and sweetness/fruitiness of most hot sauces
