Were burgers and fries ALWAYS paired together? Was there a period of time where the pairing was new unique thing, perhaps other sides are common instead with burgers?

In Germany the original hamburgers were served with sauerkraut on the side.
It’s still a thing in some places.

Rally's fries from the fast food locations are shit and taste like every other thing in the fryer. The best way to eat them is to buy the frozen bags they sell, and fry/bake them.

Incorrect.
The hamburger as we know it today originated in Germany long before the USA was founded.

as the other anon said , it was in germany in hamburgo.

But it was quite different from what we see now , but the meat patty in a plate and a few stuff on the side.

people from germany then went to america with the recipe and keep on changing it until it became what we see now.
>made it into a sandwich
>added cheese to it
>started to add more stuff on it.

Same with hotdogs , it started out as just the sausage , then made it into a sandwich ,then they started to add sauces and stuff to it and now we have hotdogs with bunch of stuff put into it.

I think most foods in the world started like that , different people tried out different things and improved the initial idea.
Like how pizza was a poor italian food and now is something loved by people with different flavors and topings

FUCK , i love food so much
