In the mountains of Shizuoka city lies the tiny village of Osawa. There are only about 25 families still living there, but they all grow tea. And each tea is a bit unique. Every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, several houses open their porches as a kind of cafe. ¥300 gets you a cup of tea and a small bite or two to eat.
Its so wonderful. I only got to go twice, but I hope someday I could return.

Nai Xiang oolong for me right now. It's kind of expensive for normies but I don't mind spending some money on good tea.

I bought about $1500 worth of tea a couple months back, got a huge box from Taiwan.

Is it weird I think some teas taste better over steeped?
Sometimes I taste too much water in my tea. Yes I do use correct amounts of water and steeping time. sometimes I make too much tea and the 2nd cup thats been steeping just taste more like the tea

>> No.13523156

>>13523146
There is no "correct" steeping time or temperature when accounting for taste. British people can't make a cup of tea that isn't way over-steeped with water way too hot (IMHO) but they seem to love it once they dump enough cream and sugar and lemon and honey and Jelly Babies in.

Mind you, I may only drink one cup a day during weekdays, and it's not always.

too much caffeine is always bad for you. also tea can sometimes be contaminated with heavy metals and stuff. and drinking hot water a lot can have a risk of lung cancer. but people in china drink it every day and live to like 100 and i'm probably gonna die before i have to worry about that kind of shit anyways so i don't worry about it too much.

well whatever, it's somewhere around there. i was wrong about the specific organ. either way it doesn't matter, the risk is minute. just like the "oh if you eat bacon you get prostate cancer" shit. you can't avoid everything mildly carcinogenic.

Just kind of a bad look to preach about stuff and throw around links to "references" when you don't even understand what it's about. If you don't know the difference between the esophagus and lungs which is very basic biology then how can you speak about how any of the other shit affects the body? Also, If the risk is minute, why even bring it up? Literally anything will kill you if you consume too much of it.

Well, that's when you drink super hot boiling water, as it is burning and injuring your throat. But it's not from drinking warm beverages.

That myth is also strongly associated with mate, because that's how it was traditionally drank, but mate itself won't give you cancer.
