hi amerifriends.

can you tell me what kind of people visit each of these establishments? which one do you prefer and why? thanks.

Everyone in America shops at Walmart. People who cook pick up the things they can't find at Walmart at Publix

No, you lose your American citizenship if you do not spend at least one money unit (Greenback) in Walmart per quarter.

Some of the very elderly go to Publix exclusively because they're one of the last places with bag boys. If you're decently well off you might be there exclusively.

>> No.13461534

Publix has more specialty things but their prices are worse over all. Realistically you go to both for range and price while also stopping by a BJ's or sams for larger cheaper options. Anything really rare you just order online.

>> No.13461543

Publix doesn't exist in the part of the country I live in so I don't know anything about them. As for Walmart it is typically people of lower economic status that go there.

Neither. I despise Walmart and I’m in Texas and don’t have a Publix here so I can’t post an opinion. I shop at a local grocery store.

I've never been to Publix, I don't think there are even any of them in my state. Walmart is literally everywhere. Everyone has been to Walmart, but I generally avoid it whenever possible because it's filled with niggers and there are better places nearby to buy food.

I go to Sam's Club instead of Wal-Mart (buying things in bulk saves money). The selection of things is limited, so if I want to get a specific barbecue sauce, for instance, that Sam's Club won't have, I'll get it at Publix. Kids like the latter because their bakery gives them free cookies.

Publix is nice, but I'm a well-adjusted adult and can therefore put up with the presence of minorities in my supermarket, so I'll just go to Walmart for like 98% of things because it's cheaper there. Publix is the fucking spot for sweet tea though

Publix isn't a national chain like walmart. Poor people and those who live in rural areas shop at walmart as they are cheaper than the competition but you get for what you pay for imo, trash quality everything, weird smell in stores, awful experience generally

>Everyone in America shops at Walmart.
This. But, it wasn't always like that. The earliest Wal-Marts were intentionally placed in the far reaches of suburbia, like on your way out of town. The people who farmed or lived very remote from center of the city only ever had small crappy convenience stores and going to a trip to Wal-Mart was time to stock up. You could get your haircut, your tires rotated, eyeglasses, a sub and all your house and kitchen shopping, all at once. People had drive 45 mins to get there or more, so the spent a long time there and got a ton of stuff. This was their corporate model.

Nowadays, they're closer to people inside every kind of neighborhood and there are even "grocery" only Wal-Marts.

>>13461430
>what about those who only go to publix? is there such sort of demographic?
Of course there is This chain didn't top the charts of national grocery stores for decades despite initially being only in 1 state, without good reason. It is the best possible, in every way, and at times slightly higher in prices for some items.
Publix is privately owned with all the same church for all the board of directors in Lakeland. They resisted the people tracking key fob cards for privacy reasons early on. The stores hire and promote from within and paid decent wages. Everyone has a smile, no tips accepted, and your bags are walked out and put in your trunk rain or shine. They do everything right, from wide angled parking lot spaces, to bathrooms immediately inside the door, to no questions asked returns. Their management share profit. That guy running the store might get a 100,000 bonus check each year or double their actual salary. This ensures no one that works there will ever get a customer complaint that isn't properly handed.
There are even Publix stores with valet parking now!
Their generics are better than store brand.
Best, ice cream, subs, fried chicken, and now they have a smoker.

so, apparently there is a walmart everywhere for everyone now, and then you have more or less local/regional variants of a more specialized or simply a higher-status place for
those who can pay more or who care about little details that enhance the experience.

thanks for all your answers.

People in the US rarely do all their shopping at one place only. Old people and some wealthy people will patron a single store/chain their whole lives. There's several higher-end grocery stores that cater to these people. And by higher-end I don't always mean nicer, just a bit more expensive.

Walmart gets all kinds. Every one, except for a tiny few, shops at Walmart for something. They're everywhere, they got a huge stock (if the wagies can keep the shelves stocked), and they're usually the cheapest around.

Walmart is disgusting. Publix is just a regular grocery store but Floridafags seem to shit bricks over it because there's shit else in Florida. Flyovers elsewhere have celebratory riots when Walmarts open. Floridaflyovers have celebratory riots when Publix grocery stores open. Here in the Northeast, we have about 20 chain equivalents to Publix and other things that far surpass them like Wegmans.

Ha, I lived in NY for some years and had to rely on wegmans and waldbaums for a while. Needless to say, it was nice to have access to Publix again once I engineered my escape back to Fla. Wegmans is not even kroger-tier but loudmouth new yorkers never shut up about it because they have nothing better. Not to mention that they are geographically at the end of the supply chain, so all the produce is 2 days from rotten on the date of purchase.
