Shit. Well according to ATK you can do the fast dethaw method with submerged water but its 30 min/lbs total and you need to change the water every half hour to prevent bacteria growth

But Adam Ragusea's solution is to leave the bird in a pot full of cold water under a slowly running faucet for the duration to constant exchange the water without having to manually check it (water bill be damned for two days).

Sometimes when I'm really lonely, I call the butterball hotline and feign a turkey crisis. They talk me through my panic and it makes me feel much better. Also, they get to feel like they really saved someone's holiday.
