What's the most excited you've ever been to eat a certain food? What was the food, did it meet your expectations?

getting pizza with my dad when I go and visit him with his new family up north. my gulf south toilet city has absolutely 0 pizza culture so even though the food might be mediocre to someone who is a fuckin connissour of regional pizzas or whatever, to me it's just a nice reprieve from being a depressed adult in a failing city and food is really good and the kids are fun and i just feel happy

Chicken goop 3-4 times a year. It is a casserole my mom has made since I was little.

>layer of cool ranch doritos
>sour cream/cream of mushroom/cream of chicken/jalapeno cubes mixed together to make semi-thick layer
>seared chicken chunks
>repeat until top of cooking container is reached

It sounds simple and stupid but holy fucking shit is it good.

I was broke and eating rice or fasting every day for 12 days. Finally payday came and I woke up at 6am to go to the store. I made a ham sandwich and it was the most excited for food I've ever been.

When I found out that a few jars of home made pickles made by my grandmother who had died around 6 months earlier were still sitting in my basement.

First time having Sushi, Sake (both room temperature and warm), and other japanese things like Snow Crab fried balls was this Wednesday and it was god tier. I think it was a really good restaurant because the bill came to 1100$ for 7 people

I am incredibly hyped for christmas every year and end up eating myself half to death. I will then rest for 2-3 hours before getting another 2 plates.

I was very excited for my trip to Italy, mostly for the seafood. I was disappointed. It's likely due to me being a bit cheap and that area was like 80% tourists. The best meals throughout the trip were charcuteries, cheese and etc, which we handpicked in grocery stores. Even then it wasn't really better than what I can get at home but at least there were a lot more options.

Once as a child I had the stomach flu and was really hungry. My siblings were eating breakfast and I have never in my life had such a craving for toast with ham but my mother didn't let me eat. When I finally was allowed to eat it turned out that my siblings had eaten all the ham. I was on the verge of tears.
