Not the same guy but I tried smokes when I was in Toronto and it really didn't live up to my expectations. The size was small, and not enough sauce and cheese.

On the other hand I also tried a very small jerk chicken place that was run by a bunch of arabs. I ordered a jerk chicken poutine there and it turned out to be one of the best poutine I ever had in my life. The spicyness was of it was fantastic and the cheese curds were fresh and squishy.

So yeah the small and nastiest places are always the best.
