Goose Island's "Bourbon County Stouts" came out this past Friday...and i'm curious what everyones favorite variety has been. Also /alk/ general i guess.

The varietys are
>Stout
>2018 Stout
>2017 Stout
>Wheatwine
>Rye Stout
>Cafe de Olla Stout
>Mon Cheri Stout

Rye was good. They aren't really special any more with the amount of good barrel programs breweries have these days.

I saw a stack of those and briefly thought of the /ck/ neckbeards who think beer is something interesting that can be talked about for hours

I had one a few years ago. Tasted like something the Cheesecake Factory would come up with as a novelty drink for house wives

Last year my favorites were Wheatwine, Coffee, and then Brambleberry in that order.

I'm right there with you. I could barely finish it. Too sweet, I don't really like any of those bourbon barrel stouts. It's weird because I really like stouts and I really like bourbon.

There are too many local options to consider spending the absurd amount for these beers for me, although I respect the effort put into each of them.
Also getting burnt out on these heavy stouts. A local irish dry has been my go to lately. Dead irish poet from finnegans. Really damn easy to drink and 7% so a few go down real quick and then I'm in bed

Just had this years Wheatwine...Not impressed. Thought last years was more subtle. Luckily its the cheapest of the bunch

I prefer Founder's CBS to any of these. It seems most people only buy these in order to trade for other beers or for collection purposes; the original stout takes forever to sell out.
