I order from GrubHub and I never tip. If my food doesn't come in a tamper proof sealed container (i.e. stapled shut), I will complain about the food and driver and get a refund. If there is an option to rate the driver I will leave the lowest one regardless.

I did that all the time and 1 time with eat24 they said the owner was refusing to give a refund and only offered $2 back of a $40 order. I had to argue with the staff for a god half hour and eventually they gave me a refund and said they would put a flag on the restaurant and if the restaurant received too many flags they would drop it. So, here is a question I pose. I always tip in CASH and tip well, I also will put in the order notes "TIP IS IN CASH" just to avoid drivers thinking I left a 0 tip. I used to work dish at a popular chipotle-style local burrito place. This place had a tip jar on the counter and an option to give credit card tips on the receipt.
Tip jar goes to people in the front making the burritos (rollers + cashiers)
Receipt tips go to us in the back, 20% goes to dishbitch

I run a kitchen and most of the deliveroo and uber eats drivers that collect the orders are fuckin lowest common denominator idiots. Do not tip them unless they have provided exemplary service. You have already paid a delivery fee, and if you tip someone for grunting at you and handing you a bag, you're an idiot.
