Not exactly. The description in >>13306944 was perfectly accurate. Read the study yourself; it's entitled "Dilution of whisky – the molecular perspective." I can't post the link because "our system thinks your post is spam."
>Therefore, guaiacol was preferentially associated with EtOH and thus, at low EtOH concentrations, more likely to be present at the liquid-air interface than in the bulk.
Dilution of whisky via water causes guaiacol to float to the top of the glass. This, in effect, makes the first sips of the dram more flavorful, the last sips of the dram less flavorful and the average sip less flavorful due to dilution.

Here's how you maximize the number of different flavors in two sips:
Take a sip of it neat. Swish it around your mouth. Now swallow half of it. Continue to swish it around your mouth. You are now experiencing palate and finish simultaneously. Finish the sip.
Take another sip of it neat. Produce some saliva in your mouth then swish it around your mouth. Now you're experiencing its diluted flavors. Now swallow half and swish around your mouth to experience the diluted flavors version of palate and finish simultaneously.
Combine all of this with nosing the glass for maximum sensory experience.
I'm not an autist, I just play one on TV. I did, however, stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Liquor store owner here. What the fuck actually drives these stupid alcohol trends? Now it's bourbon but before that it was IPA cancer, there was a Pilsner fad that drove me up the wall too. If one more person refuses to do basic fucking research about whether I or anyone in the goddamn state carries Crown Peach I'm gonna go insane.

You try taking literally eighty calls a day about the same fucking whiskey - by the same fucking people each week - when a simple google search would tell them that shit is gone for the rest of the season. You'd run out of patience too. Same thing with those idiots who come in the day before our weekly truck and ask "got any Blanton's :^)" like anybody fucking anywhere in this state's gonna have it the day after it's delivered, let alone the SIX DAYS they wait before they bother to check. And they come back the same time each week as if they seriously think it's gonna change one of these days.

Good stuff can be sourced from Canada, but so can garbage that gets a huge upcharge for a fancy bottle in America. People who know Canadian whiskey know how to find which Canadian distillery an "American" rye is sourced from, if it's sourced in the first place. High West is a good example of what's happening in America these days. They started with sourcing from Canada, and now that their own barrels are reaching a proper age they've started introducing that into their line up.

People that aren't that into whiskey but know just enough to be dangerous have probably tried plenty of shit Canadian branded whiskey.
