I have never ordered mac n cheese at a restaurant or fast food joint. Seems like such a weird thing to ask for. I can only imagine that it ends up like that super low-end mac n cheese that school cafeterias offered about 15 years ago.

All fast food mac n cheese is made with fake oil and are therefore nasty. IIRC, Luby's, Cracker Barrel, and Cotton Patch weren't disgusting, but I don't remember which was best because I don't order mac n cheese because I'm not a child.

Mac and cheese that isn’t home made always have a weird subtle barfy taste. Stuff from grocery stores, fast food, etc. the best Mac I ever had was some homemade baked mac that strangely used cottage cheese in it. That’s all I remember but it was good as fuck.
