I became a whiskyfag because when I was young, my parents had a bourbon liqueur that I liked, and when I became of age I decided to see what the base spirit was like, and just sort of kept trying things.
I really don't get how everyone treats the people who drink it like they're committing some sort of a charade. It's always "You're just trying to look like a man by drinking something that tastes bad and hurts" or "You just want to be seen consuming an expensive status item and base yourself look better than everyone else".

Hennessy is garbage cognac not worthy of a snifter. Maybe if it was a single cask Tercinier or a Charpentier but Hennessy is literally all the good cognac houses trash casks as are all the major label cognacs. It's like Irish whiskey where no distilleries are properly showcased it's all rebottled garbage casks and the occasional good one done by accident.

Hennessy is a more expensive option. The iteration I had was OK but not worth the pricing, especially now that I'm getting into the option of mixed drinks (a little cinnamon / cacao and heavy creamer, etc.)
