Is there anything more of a LEGITIMATE meme than French cooking?

I mean that french food, made by french, is such a specific thing without any regard to taste, texture, or ease of creation. It's just a bunch of tradition that french do because their granmère did it before them. Stuff like using only butter for butter sauces, not putting coke in wine, needing quality wine to cook with instead of some bargain wine which would give about as much flavor, considering snail an actual food.

The Portuguese have none of these dumbass rules.

If you need acid--there are plenty of other ways to add it if you don't want to spend money on wine
