Kind of wish we did the bagged milk thing here in USA. Seems less wasteful than the typical plastic milk jug (though you can re-use them if you wash them well.) Ideally, I'd prefer the 1/2 gallon glass milk jugs and just clean em out and get them refilled/exchanged. Not many people will go for that these days though.

Foil lined food doesn’t exist.
You’re thinking of Mylar which is foil sandwiched between plastic. It’s still used on the inside of drink cartons and snacks.

On a related note, beer cans, tin cans, and coffee cans are also lined with plastic to prevent corrosion of the metal and prevent altering the taste of the food/beverage.
