Born and raised American, I loved reese's cups as a fat little retard, the CnC Hershey's too, but pretty much everything on that shelf is garbage. That's $15,080/yr, which is ~$1,256/mo.
At that level of income, you're either not paying any income tax or it's so low it's practically negligible.
If you can't find a basic tiny 1-person apartment for less than or equal to $800/mo then you're either living in a state with a higher minimum wage anyway, or living in or near a city. In either case there's two simple and effective solutions:

Dude I grew up hungry in a shithole country where half the population is still in feudal conditions and city-dwellers die of exposure in their own homes in the winter because there's nothing to burn. We still lived better than a family can on minimum wage in the US. When we could get food it was plenty flavorful. Good food is a requirement for a decent living, and is absolutely not a luxury. And it's hard to take you seriously if you don't realize that in most of the world being able to live comfortably outside a city is the luxury. People don't move to the city because they hate the fresh air and peace and quiet.
The $6 and some change an hour you make after taxes is barely enough to support one person in a city working full time or more who needs to stay in that city just to keep their minimum wage job.
