i'll have to whip out a vegan and vegetarian dish, then a meat dish. childhood friend who grew up to be an art ho is mad fuckable - so I gotta make something that'll impress her AND daddy. I try to make it out to to her family's thanksgiving when I got the balls, but i always end up spending $100+ on dishes I've always fucked up in the past.
stuffed portabella mushrooms, pretzel breaded fried cornish game hens, beer smoked ham. homemade apple and pumpkin pie. i'll probably do something big with sweet potatoes. i've wanted to do a turducken for a while now, but maybe a thanksgiving pizza would be an interesting idea. i've been kind of on a sweet potato kick lately though.

Hazarding a guess at these, but:
>Gravy is fat, flour, and stock cooked until thick.
>Dressing is baking fat, stale bread cubes, and root vegetables.
>Mascarpone is just fancy cream cheese, so boil and mash some potatoes with cream cheese.
>Dice sweet potatoes and bake with brown sugar.
>Green bean casserole is the simplest thing in the world, they print it on cream of mushroom soup cans
>Likely boil cranberries in wine and spices
>Pie is super easy, pumpkin puree, milk, sugar, eggs, and spices, then bake in a pie crust

The turkey might be an effort, depending on how he preps it, but otherwise that whole list is mostly chopping, boiling, and baking. You are seriously sad if chopping, boiling, and baking are too much effort for you for one meal a year.

So with the pizza idea, I'm thinking I can combine the vegan and meat lovers all into a set of 'za's.

I'm thinking of a half and half turkey/ham with little balls of stuffing, onion, and mushroom.
The vegan will have all of this of course, but maybe something like spinach and tomatoes instead. (open to ideas of course)
I want the crust to be stuffed with sweet potato and to have a homemade dipping sauce of white cheddar and cranberry. (preferably vegan, not necessary)
