Juice, cider, and hard cider and done differently in the US. And people forget the it's the United States, not one fucking entity. For most people juice is 100% purified and pasteurized sugar-water that looks like piss. Cider here is unfiltered and unpasteurized but vacuum sealed, which means there's some fermentation (and potential spoilage) which means it's tangy but relatively non-alcoholic. Other brands or areas they still pasteurize it and it's just less sugary apple juice with pulp. Your version of "cider" can be bought in the liquor store, or grocery store in civilized areas.
