It’s whiskey season boys, what’s the best whiskey for going /out/?

>> No.13136481

For flask drinking I don't want something too characterful.
I drink Laphroaig at home but I wouldn't take it out. Maybe something like Glenfiddich 12 instead I guess.
Where I live it's more traditional to drink a herbal bitter when you're out hunting. Mümmelmann, Jägermeister, Underberg, Gammel Dansk... that sort of thing.

Oh, and don't buy them in those tiny bottles. It's overpriced and heavy and the assholes who do buy them tend to toss the empties in nature. Don't be like that.

Based. Windsor is cheap and easy to drink. Evan William's single barrel rides the edge of cheap and quality. Otherwise buffalo trace or elijah craig. Maybe bulleit rye

Evan williams.
>$20
>best whiskey in the $20-$50 price range
>great for mixing or drinking straight
Has always been my go to. I used to get fancy bourbons/scotch but it was always a huge waste of money. I go /out/ every weekend so spending $60 on a bottle of scotch isn't realistic. If you are a filthy urbanite who only goes /out/ with a group of friends in a drive-to paid campsite then just bring a cooler of beer

Are hunters really the drunks i expect them to be?

>> No.13136962

>>13136942
Drunks? No. But you can expect us drinking a few beers. Usually after the hunt because firearms and alcohol don't mix. However when I go /out/ deep in the backcountry solo you can guarantee I am going to be drunk after I set up my camp and get a fire and some food going.

Because it's people like I mentioned that ruin going /out/. Constantly trashing places. Showing up by the thousands to go to places that a few years ago, only people that had been there knew about until some instawhore finds their way there and posts the spot to her million followers. I can't tell you how many of my spots I've been going to for years have become filled with beer bottles/trash/the once level ground tore up from people mudding in their trucks. Sorry, but going /out/ isn't a right. If you can't respect nature then don't fucking leave your shitty city. Do more heroin until you od.

When I hunt, I grab the one thing dearest to me. That my lads... is the chup.

Waking up early to see the sun rise
Doggies in the back, gun between my thighs
But there's one thing that I can't forget
it's sweet flavored chup, one dollop I'll never regret

Got my eggs, got my toast
vehicles for chup, what I want most
As I begin to squeeze, the chup runs free
all over my breakfast deliciously

Dogs begin to bark, they know whats been done
I pass 'em the bottle, chup for every one!

I haven't had a sip of whiskey since I bought 12 bottles of vodka from Germany. Now I start dreaming about drinking whiskey, even though the vodka is nice.

I was looting a warehouse full of whiskey, just piling bottles in an empty marketcart. I opened a bottle called Finlay bourbon and it was so creamy thick with flavor that it was almost like drinking melted bourbon-vanilla ice cream.

The next day I went to a booze store affiliated with the same warehouse and had guards chewing my ass for browsing. There was nothing but alcopop left, some other people were also looting.

But that was a dream and I am still whiskeyless IRL. I was thinking of snagging a bottle of Jim Beam for the PC launch of Red Dead Redemption 2.

EWSB is SERIOUSLY good, don't get me wrong. Your 50$ upper range makes it compete with stuff well outside it's price range however.

Not saying that these are better, but Tomatin 12, Four Roses Small Batch, High West double rye, are all top tier choices in that 25-35$ range. Prices vary on location of course.

>>13144194
Laphroaig if you like smoky. That usually retails around 45$. The Arran single malt has a very good lineup that includes stuff in your price range, and offers unpeated options too.

I'm a big fan of Glendronach12, best sherried scotch over Macallan imo, but that might be closer to 60 than 50.

Let's see let's see... What else...

Not Scotch, but Redbreast12 is in that price range and pretty damn good too!

Depends on your tastes, if you want something a bit more unique try a Bunnahabhain 12, it's an unheated Islay Single Malt, which you can't get at that price point from anywhere else.
