I always play it fair and square. When ordering I tell my waiter/waitress that I will give a 30% tip, I also tell them that I will subtract 5% for each mistake they make. This way they have an actual reason to give me a good service and if they fail to do so it is entirely their own fault!

I don't tip as a principle. I live in the greater NY area so there's literally thousands of restaurants, and I've never even felt the necessity to go to a place twice. Waiters are not entitled to tips, they are entitled however to a better wage. So maybe they should consider directing their moralistic bulshit towards their employer and instead be thankful for people like me who are fighting for them in the long run.

I used to be 100% against tips as an American

Then I went abroad and realized how absolutely garbage service is from waiters/waitresses in countries where tipping isn't a thing, the only exception being in Japan. In Australia, I had some cunt literally sit down with a table of people (who I assume were her friends) and start eating pizza with them while we had a table of 8 waiting to be served.

There's a Japanese restaurant in NYC that doesn't allow tipping which I found quite nice until I experienced the shitty service there. Waitresses had a piss poor attitude, were difficult to track down, and our food was actually brought to the wrong table and sat there for a few minutes until the dumbass server realized what had happened and assured me "oh no they no touch food."

Now I only slightly think the tipping system is retarded, but at least they put some effort forth when they know they'll get some compensation for it at the end

I worked in the industry for 6 years. Bunch of whore/slut, drug addict, single mom, ex convict, Mexican, faggot , theiving retards. Groping and grinding on asses and tits was the best part about it. Nothing like dry humping a 16 year olds ass at the host stand.

One time I went out to eat with friends at Joe's Crab Shack. It was four of us, on a busy Saturday night, and we each had paid our own. My meal was $15.49 (the fish and chips, very basic, with a water, which got refilled once). The sales tax here is kinda high, 9.25% (even on food). The bill was $16.92. I very simply put a $20 bill in the envelope and told her no change. The bitch comes back and slams the tip ($3.08) on the table and yells out for everyone to hear, "YOU NEED THIS A LOT MORE THAN I DO!" My friends were like,
