What is worse? 6 cans of beer a day or 6 cans of Coke a day. Does beer have sugar in it? Does alcohol turn into fat in the body?

beer. you will fuck your brain over and probably have withdrawal when you try to stop. it's also carcinogenic. and it's also just a shit ton of carbs. daily drinking of alcohol in any form will always be worse than an equivalent food that isn't alcohol.

>and it's also just a shit ton of carbs.
soda has more carbs than beer. an average beer has about 15g of carbs, a soda has closer to 40g.

you might actually be better off having 6 beers per day if you space them out even though that much alcohol long-term isn't good either. 240g of sugar is a lot, almost ten times the amount of what's recommended for a daily limit. they're still both bad though, just in different ways.

i understand soda has more carbs than beer, the point is that beer has not only alcohol which is bad for you, addictive and carcinogenic but it's also horrible for you in terms of carbs. so the badness of the soda really isn't that bad.

ultimately obviously you shouldn't feel the need to drink liquid sugar in any form but in a comparison between beer and soda go with the soda. this is literally the only time in comparing food where i'd say the soda is the healthier option.

more than like 30g of sugar every day increases your risk of heart disease and diabetes by quite a bit, and six sodas would be about 240g. i'm not rationalizing daily binge drinking, i said they're both bad, just in different ways because OP is asking if too much alcohol or too much sugar is better.

i think six light beers would actually be better than six sodas.

op will likely have a seizure and possibly die if he drank 6 beers a day and then missed a day. these are not equivalencies, soda is obviously bad for you, but the beer is much much worse for your health. the daily beer would be worse for his immediate health and he would not survive to see the benefits that not drinking 6 sodas a day would provide him. for someone so aware of the serious consequences of too much sugar you're massively undervaluing the risk of drinking the equivalent of 6 shots of vodka a day.

I'm not sure if you're underage or naive. Six 12-ounce beers of 4.2 - 5% alcohol is a good amount, but definitely not enough to cause dependency to the point of seizures. It's also greatly dependent on your sex, height, and weight, and even race.

Neither is typically digested in the intestines like normal food. The body attempts to filter it through the liver and kidneys, and any consumption in excess of the filtration rate is excreted if possible.
The process for measuring calories is what's know as a calorimeter. The food is ignited, and the total energy produced by burning it is recorded. As you can imagine, this is just an estimation process, as the human body doesn't literally "burn calories" like the testing device.

For a 200 lb man (read: fat unless you’re 6 ft+) you’d be getting drunk every night, yeah you’re not gonna be hammered or anything but you’re a bit more than buzzed. To all the anons saying 6 beers is "binge drinking", it really depends on how fast they're consumed. Binge drinking literally just means you have put your BAC to above 0.08%. For a grown man who's like 180lb, if you even spaced it out to 4 hours, you would not be "binge drinking". You are certainly a heavy drinker at that point, possibly even dependent on it, but fact remains you can have more than 4 beers in a 24 hour period and not follow a "binge drinking" pattern.

You will definitely be a problem drinker, and nobody would say you drink moderately, but again a binge drinker pushes their BAC to much higher amounts in a session (like .18 or so, I would guess), for longer amounts of time.

What a gross misunderstanding of how the body works. Alcohol that you drink is composed of carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates are the primary energy source for the body. Complex carbs are broken down in to simple carbs (sugars) to be used for energy in your cells. Excess nutrition means calorie storage. So in other words, if you eat less than what you burn off in a day, you lose weight. Get it?
