you are offered:
>a one-time visit to a 3 michelin stars restaurant of your choice, bill already paid
>or one year of free-food from your favorite fast-food chain
which one do you pick?

Michelin stars are overrated. Fast food is the real haute cuisine of 2019. The real problem of the century will be health care. It's hard to be an old fool, as one who has worked for the likes of McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Taco Bell for 40 years. Even when I had an excellent job at a major food producer for over 20 years, my wife worked at my family's restaurant for 8 more years until I retired on the old age pension with a nice state retirement of $25,000 each year. Even then I wouldn't have done it without the family, as most restaurant jobs are less than 50 hours per week.

A "better living" for the wealthy is never going to happen, unless more middle class families accept work as the new normal.

Depends on the fast food joint. Most of them now diversify the menu, so you're not going to get the same shit all the time.

The real question is, what counts as fast food? Is the challenge only to eat at the Big Corp fast food joints like McDonalds, KFC, Dominos etc, or does it extend to other smaller stores/chains that operate on a high daily turnover?

Nowhere in the OP is anything mentioned about having to eat the fast food for every meal, you can just eat there free whenever you choose to go there, for an entire year.

Basically you could just eat healthy meals as per normal, buying your shit from the grocery store, but any time you want a snack of some hot tendies with dip, you would be able to just stop by your fast food joint of choice and grab some for free.
So either that, or one meal of unlimited size/items from a 3-tire-company-star restaurant.
By the way, I just love being reminded of the smell of black rubber and asphalt when I'm trying to think about food, it really flatters the dining establishment that it's supposed to rate highly. [/sarcasm]

What if there is no fast food chain in your town?

We only have two fast food restaurants of any kind in the county -- a Pizza Hut and a Dairy Queen. In the county to the west and the county to the east, I think the only fast food restaurants are Subway.

Make it free food from any fast food chain and I'd jump at it, though. In the next county to the north, they have a few fast food chains. There are none that I'd want to eat at daily, but between them, I could do fine.
