I didn't care for Butterfinger much after the recipe change, but I really liked the "dark" ones more than the original. I'm pretty sure they got rid of those right after Ferrero bought them and rolled out the new recipe. Only been around since last year, and gone midway into this year.

The Ferrero Group bought Nestlé's US confectionery business late last year, so they have the rights to produce and sell all the candy originally sold by Nestlé, including Butterfinger. The new Butterfinger recipe uses less preservatives and filters, and uses more "real ingredients". The texture is pretty different as well, in that it doesn't shatter into a mess of pieces when you bite into it, and the peanut butter filling doesn't stick to teeth as badly as it used to. Taste-wise, the chocolate coating does have more of a slight cocoa taste to it, and the peanut layer isn't as sweet as the old bar.

I wasn't into Butterfingers that much, but I think the newer version is a much needed upgrade. Some of us here might think otherwise.

I love the Reese's that are wrapped in the fall colored foil. I found some of the regular ones (the flat cups) that are in glow in the dark wrappers. I got both and have them put back for Halloween.

I work for Nestle. They are trying to go for a "healthy" thing and are headed for the vegan and vegetarian groups and the hispter stuff. I was told candy isnt a target anymore. I wouldn't be suprised if they changed the recipe, realized it didnt test well and the sold it so they could go after something more profitable and healthy. They got rid of Babe Ruth along with Butterfinger.

Pumpkin seeds. I love how the shell is soft and you can just eat it whole instead of having the equivalent of glass shards in your mouth when eating it (looking at you, sunflower seeds). Dont need to add much either, just roast them with salt and they taste like potato chips
