i think it depends what cut of chicken. if its a wing or a drumstick, pick it up and bite it. a bone in breast or thigh you're gonna want utensils but then you can clean it off by picking it up and biting it. if you're in a blue collar type place no one will give a flying fuck how you eat it but if you're in some pretentious gastropub with deconstructed chicken and waffle confit for $56 you should leave immediately and find the blue collar place. you can always just wash your hands after you order your food or bring purell everywhere and bless your hands with it constantly
