where i am in canada, people stay as kitchen hands because they're male and thus capable of actually working, and the management hires young girls as waitresses, and sort of changes them out periodically for younger better looking models (they'll keep like one or two of the older ones so they can train, or be called in if its busy). they'll sort of string along dishwashers and other kitchen workers by telling them "we are going to make you a waiter very soon" until they eventually give up and quit.

btw wait staff here makes at least 12$ an hour, usually more, and still expects tips of 15-45%, a tinder slut i talked to made 85k a year as a waitress (of course she only claims about 35)

Where did I say San Marzano is a brand?

People were arguing that one brand of it was better than the other, and this supposedly better brand was not being stocked by supermarkets.

The point being, if it comes from a can, all tomatoes taste the same because all flavor is eliminated during canning.

Don't trust me? Test it out. Buy the most expensive San Marzano and your Best Value one and see if you can taste any difference. If they didn't add anything to it, it's the same.

I don't my actual groceries by the box, just foreign food or hard to find items, per my whim.
I get kasugai gummies in all the flavors from Japan. They take a while to get here. Mango, muscat grape and yuzu are my favorites.
I buy lychee honey in squeeze tubes from Thailand in multiples. Nothing is as yummy in tea, on toast, etc.
Crunchie candy bars from the UK. Nothing exists like it in the US. Sometimes some lakris black licorice from Iceland, the kind with the chocolate and licorice together, just a memory from a vacation.
I stock up on Orange cafe international foods coffees, which I keep in my desk at work. It reminds me of the Starbucks Mocha Valencia discontinued years ago. Sometimes I'll buy a 2lb bag of whole beans from a roaster in another state. It is cheaper on the direct website vs amazon, but hey, it's easier through them. Note that $7 is what amazon gets for S&H and commission, so that's your surcharge.

well... i still kinda stay...

i work as a cook in the best, most visited Restaurant in my town, and the waiters are like fucking jews when it comes to splitting the tips with the kitchen staff... they make the same in tips a day, as they give to the kitchen staff a month... I might be a depressed alcohol, but fucking hell, I really think about an hero almost every day, I just don't know what else to do, there are no other things left, I just don't know how to continue, but I have to, or I'll become homeless, cause no job = no money to pay rent... what do?
