Not op, but I was saving so much money living at home

Shame I blew it all on booze, I could probably throw down on my own house if I didn't drink

I think if you're just getting away from homelessness and you straight away buy a double hob and some basic cooking equipment then you're on the right track

It's basic as shit, obviously, but you can get a lot done with your setup

I wish you well

It's likely not just the money but also wiring, code, ventilation, are there gas lines there for proper burners and all kinds of related things, potential it has.
It would be cool if you showed a top down picture or a maybe 3d diagram.

They're lucky enough to get en suite bathrooms, I think they have to be rich to get a kitchen as well.

Be aware of cooking indoors without ventilation, greasy walls, moisture damage, etc . There's a reason why range hoods exist. However, you seem to know this as you have located your stove next to the window, which will help to vent the cooking odors and oil fumes outside, though in a less controlled and less effective manner (half the time the fumes will blow back inside). The window seems like it swings all the way open too which will make it easier to place a box fan there to pull the cooking fumes outside more effectively.
