Gin is the least alcohol tasting alcohol IMO. I had it a few times when I was younger and it was not bad. But I'm a bourbon dude now so I don't waste time with it.

I've head this more than a couple times now and I will admit to this being true. I don't dislike gin, but I rarely drink it and its not my favorite. Someone served me Hendricks once and I liked it. A bit smoother, sweeter, and milder than most gins I've had. Is that why gin people don't like it as much?
