I spoke about this to a coworker who looks and acts like a typical hipster millennial mockingly. She brings in vegan soup for fuck sake. Godawful. Fuck. So she smeared some of the Devil's nut on some whole grain toast for me as a joke and you know what?... Wasn't too bad. Could have used an egg though, maybe some crispy hash. But I'll try anything once so whatever.

My neighbor has a huge avocado tree but they don't eat them, so I get them for free because I helped him paint a wall once. I usually get 8-15 avos a month, depending on weather.

Hispanic here. Avocado tacos>avocado toast. Just a slightly charred corn tortilla, diced avocado, and salt. Delicious. You can add other things like black pepper, lemon juice, Tajín, salsa, cheese (queso fresco, requeson, cotija) etc. One time, I was high on WEED LMAO and I remembered that Asians drink avocado smoothies, so I put sugar. It was actually not bad.

Nice half inch chunks with same size tomato chunks. Room temperature. Salt, pepper, lime juice. Red onion if you are in to that but usually I skip it. Now and then I'll do some balsamic vinegar but that's pretty overpowering so you can't really taste the nice avocado.

Love this shit so much. I don't think you have to worry about being a soiboi hipster faggot for eating it UNLESS you buy it for $12 at a bullshit vegan coffee shop or whatever.

The main problem i face is that avocados are so goddamn expensive where i am, and i'll use a whole one to make this, but it's not worth the $2.50 per fruit grocery chains are asking for it. If I can find them for <1$ each I'll getthem. I live in Seattle for what it's worth. Used to live in california where you could buy them at a roadside stand at $5 for 25.

Avocado is pretty good depending on how you use it, just needs salt and maybe a bit of lime and it's pretty good on toast or on a sammich with some tomato and Turkey. I kinda wonder what kinda simple taste buds people have when they lose their shit about them. I grew up in the southwest and have eaten them all my life, there was never any crazy hate about them until people started pissing themselves about hipsters.

Why are they so expensive in Seattle? I can get a bag of 5 for 2.5€ here in Germany and they have to fly/ship them in. Whenever people complain about fruit being expensive in general I'm thrown off for a second because all that shit is cheap as fuck here. When I go to France or Italy I feel the same way, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is up to 1€ more expensive in supermarkets. It's unreal. How can our food be so much cheaper when we earn more on average? Shouldn't it be the other way round?
