What is the best meal for /fit/?

depends on your caloric needs. If you want to gain weight, eat a surplus of calories and work out. If you want to lose weight, eat fewer calories than you burn. Either way, make sure you most of your energy comes from protein and long chain carbohydrates, instead of fats and refined carbohydrates (not that you have to stop eating fats & refined carbs altogether). Obviously you need your trace nutrients from veggies, some might recommend multivitamins but imo you should take a more holistic view of food and not rely on pills/powder/soylent whatever.
If you're basic like me, eat a lot of rice/veggies/chicken. I also pound fruit and veggies all day while I do other shit
Oh yeah, you should prioritize food that you actually find satiating, especially when losing weight. It's hard to maintain calories in/calories out when you are not satisfied by any meals. Going on a diet of plain broccoli and oatmeal is some gulag style shit and is a diet guaranteed to fail because you are not meeting your emotional needs, even if you are meeting your nutritional ones.

Depends on what kind of exercise you're doing, cardio is really easy to calculate because you can calculate speed versus distance, or use a gym machine that counts calories for you. /fit/ loves weightlifting because it burns calories way, way faster than cardio (and it's fun), but tbqhfam I don't know how to track weightlifting calories since my issue has always been weight gain, not weight loss, so I just ate a shitload and didn't worry about it. You might want to ask /fit/ about calories burnt weightlifting if you can't figure it out yourself
check out myfitnesspal if you're looking for an EZ calorie counter, it has a database of all sorts of foods so you just enter in what you ate and you can get an estimate of the day's caloric intake

Ya don't.

Just watch what you're eating, and count the calories going in. And workout accordingly and appropriately.
If you're under basically 35 years old, and you have a decent workout plan and diet schedule you can eat a variety of stuff.

Thing is, just don't become obsessed. I workout three times a week, but I also work a very physical job so it's more for cardio and mild strength training. On the days I workout I go heavy on the carbs, and all my other macros are the same. On the days I don't workout, I just cut back to basically fruits and veg as my carbs. I eat what ever I want really, but I eat healthy to begin with I can't even remember the last time I had a glass of juice or soda, or even setting foot in the middle aisles for anything else but canned fish, tomatoes or something.

Myfitnesspal app to track your calories
It has cardio options. I would recommend setting your activity level to sedentary, then use mymapwalk to track the calories you've burnt.
Make sure to weight train and hit your protein intake, approx 0.8 grams per Ib of body weight.
Weigh yourself every week and adjust accordingly. If after 3-4 weeks you feel really tired, go on a diet break for 3-4 days or start using stimulants/fat burners. Do this for around 10-15 weeks depending on your goals

Yea I got the diet part down and have lost a ton of weight, but I still have some flab I want to make disappear. Maybe I should start lifting more weights less reps? Though I do have a soda or juice every once in a while, most of the time I'm eating clean and drinking water.

>>12798168
I'll re-download the app. I can't do stimulants, even a little bit of coffee gives me bad anxiety most of the time.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I need to look deeper into dieting for fat loss and muscle gain.

A varied diet is usually better, since it lowers the risk of your body running-out of something important.
Experiment with stuff outside of that.
Also, that diet sounds suspiciously like my mother's.
