It's a $40 pepper mill. My general philosophy is if you're going to buy something do a little research first and buy something you'll be happy with that will last awhile and be a pleasure to use. But they're not at all. The Unicorn is modeled after something like pic related, which has very high quality gears and a large, easily adjustable grinder which produces a very uniform grind in a third of the effort of a basic bitch pepper mill, and that's being generous (it's much cheaper because of the plastic housing. I don't know if you're a coffee fag, but a good analogy would be comparing a $10 push down on the lid coffee grinder compared to a passable home burr grinder. The results are night and day.
