I have one of these and want to use it to steam broccoli. When i do this i just hit the "steam" button but it comes out soggy. Is it that i add too much time, too much water, or is it not supposed to be used without rice?

just use a steamer basket what's wrong with you

Which part is soggy? If it's the top, then too much water. If the stem is soft and soggy then too much time.

How much time and water do you recommend? I always used the default "steam" option but i want a crunchy taste

2 cups of water. steam for 2-4 minutes after the water starts boiling. test the broccoli part way through cooking for doneness. make note of the time you tested it. realize where you screwed up and improve upon your technique. take notes. once you have it perfect, record your recipe in a OneNote notebook. Get better at cooking. Eventually have a OneNote packed with perfect recipes. Enjoy a better life. Use trial and error a lot or Google. i recommend not steaming vegetables in a rice cooker. use >>12732099 instead (nice dubs). it's easier. boil water first, then place the veggies in the steamer basket. check every couple minutes with a fork to see if there's the right amount of resistance (bite) that you want. Use a kitchen timer.

they don’t sell the aroma ones in the UK, all the alternatives are pressure cookers which seem a hassle
