Just vacuum seal. Cheese doesn't go bad in room temperature for a long time, it just starts to sweat and dry out if left outside, by vacuum sealing it it wont dry out.

The answer is that you need a cooler. A paper bag is slightly insulating, especially if doubled, and closed down, but you can also buy insulated coolers and bags at nearly every store anyway. You can freeze a couple water bottles to add some hours of coolness, like 4-6 before they're totally thawed in an unopened bag. They're blocks of ice. An unopened entire wheel of cheese is going to be less perishable.

I ended up putting a bunch of ice and some frozen cans of coke in a triple bagged garbage bag, and storing the cheeze inside a small tupperware.
