Does /ck/ like Indian food?
Ever since my first bite as a child it’s always been my favorite cuisine.
Literally can’t get enough of it I love it so much.
Trying to learn a few good recipes to make on my own.
How do I make my naan come out halfway decent instead of a doughy garlic pancake?
How do I make really good basmati rice?
What are some essential dishes I should learn?

It's good (north Indian mostly) but I wouldn't eat it every day. I prefer middle eastern cuisine over it.

>want a good dosa
>every Indian place is same tikke shit and mango lasi
Indian restaurants are funded like Thai restaurants by their government for culinary diplomacy, the menu is always the same and no body puts their own personality into it.

Tibetan food is unironically the greatest food in the planet.
You know I’m starting to believe the Theosophys when they say that tibet is the true capital of earth. That country is really amazing if you ever visit it, even destroyed by China is still has one of the strongest cultures in every aspect out of any where in he planet, if not the strongest

i like goat curry. ive yet to find a restaurant that has consistent quality though. sometimes its too oily, too spicy or not enough meat. i dont care much for the vegetable dishes. i used to like them though. also the desserts are godlike gulab juman, jalebi, ras gulla, ras malai, petha. no wonder so many of them have diabetes

>How do I make my naan come out halfway decent instead of a doughy garlic pancake?
Watch a video of people making naan in a tandoor and then mimic that technique on a preheated pizza stone in your oven.
>How do I make really good basmati rice?
Gordon Ramsay did an okay recipe though I would add a tsp of ghee to it and a dash of turmeric and paprika for color.
>What are some essential dishes I should learn?
Learn to make your own ghee and paneer first since they can be hard to obtain or overpriced at the supermarket. Use only unsalted cultured butter for making ghee. Palak paneer and lamb korma are my two favorites. Just try making what you like.

Had my last meal this weekend at my favorite Indian place. I was a weekly regular to the point that I rarely placed an order, since I always got the daily special.
Unfortunately chicken and eggplant is not my favorite, but I always appreciated being surprised either way.
I'll miss it, bros.
