I cook shirtless with a headband because it’s hot as fuck in New Orleans

>Apron or no apron?
Bacon or shallow frying anything that spits = yes
Mixer for a cake mix, batter or whipped mash = yes, just in case it bucks on me, but not usually needed
Jello, cherries, or anything with artificial dyes for staining

If my kitchen isn't cool enough to want to wear a jacket in the first place (which is like never in Florida), then I don't want the additional layer to warm me up. But, if I don't want to spot treat my clothes, I either change into something less valuable before cooking, or pop on an apron.

Moswt of my aprons are cute and designer from Halston, Emilio Pucci (Braniff) to Cacherel (Pan Am). They are former flight crew aprons for flight stewards from National, Pan Am, Delta, Eastern, etc. A couple of my aprons are from grandma who had a friend create a fabric pattern from Delta crew aprons, and used her own material. Both of my grandfathers and my parents were pilots, so it was kind of thing in my airline family. Crew aprons are typically form-fitting and quite thoughtfully clever to attach to a modern sophisticated uniform, and protected more than the minimum coverage, had great pockets and usually reversible designs. Crews used to serve several course meals in the 80s and beforehand, and walk back and forth to the galley with notes. There are several people making them on etsy today, if you want your own per your measurements or keep your eyes on ebay for the real vintage items. New Delta aprons are Zac Posen. Get one!

I really like when sticks the raccoon wears an apron in sonic boom, I think it looks cute on her character, for cooking it's fine
