If you were cutting 400 onions a day, you would be working in a restaurant as a cook and would wear a cut resistant glove, not mess around with some gimmick gadget that only protects the tips of your fingers.

no amount of experience is a replacement for using proper safety equipment

I'm a jhsc member from a place where people with 6+ years of experience of deboning picnics injure themselves even with protective equipment
no matter how good you are at something, you can fail, and you can fail god damned hard.
i've even had to patch up a guy who had someone elses knife jammed through his hand, through the metal glove.

Try sharpening it retard. Most things especially fruits and vegetables can be cut with a blunt knife because its not hard to push a thin piece of metal through a potato.

If you cant shave your arm then it needs sharpening, it takes a matter of minutes, its not hard

You have probably just gotten used to the knife being blunt. And you may have a properly thin ground knife, those can movie through food relatively easily even with a dull edge. That is no excuse not to sharpen it though.

the shark gloves are similar but are a bit differently constructed, and don't really stop a shark from breaking your fingers off inside the gloves.
diving with sharks and shit is stupid no matter how much protective gear you got on

steel mesh gloves are usually used in industrial settings like slaughter houses or fish processing where people are doing things quickly rather than carefully, since you can quite literally pick it up and hack it apart on your palm.
usually paired with a plastic arm guard, pic related, and chainmail vest.
depending on regulation the protective gear is often concealed under labcoats

Chef's knife. I hone it every so often, 10-15 onions or so. It's a house knife so it gets brought to a sharpener once a week, I don't bring my own knives into work unless it's for a special event like a wine dinner.
