Retard post. If you're cooking a tender steak (ribeye, filet) or another tender cut of meat like a chicken parm or something, you should be able to cut it with the side of your fork if you haven't completely fucked up.

If you're eating a pasta dish which has a thick chunky sauce, a fork can get the pasta and the sauce in the same bite while chopsticks can't.

A fork can be used for desserts such as pie & ice cream.

Just a few examples off the top of my head.

I refuse to believe this without citations. Maybe for the poorest of poor people this was true, but if a simple farmer can afford a plow and an ox, horse, or mule, I'm sure they could afford a dozen forks and spoons to eat with.

You don't understand how expensive metal work was pre-industrial revolution. Working class people might be able to afford a small set of cheap metal utensils (tin), but poorer people used wooden utensils. Only business class and up could afford better, from pewter (business class) to silverware (upper class). Also, poor people and working class didn't ever have "sets" of utensils (as in, a 6 - 12 or more piece place settings) they only kept enough for the family members for one meal, and washed them in between uses. Neither of these are citations but whatever.

Obviously I understand that working class people wouldn't have a set of silverware. I meant six spoons and/or six forks, enough for an average family to eat one meal. Be they metal or wood I don't care, I was just refuting the idea that in 1850 commonfolk were using their hands to eat. And at a cursory glance forks became popular in NA at the revolution, kind of a big difference from the civil war.

these are objectively superior to a fork, for the simple reason that you need to press down on whatever you are eating to pick it up with your fork

You only need chopsticks to eat. Those chinks got it right.

They were in the right. You are an uncultured piece of trash for using chopsticks in an area where it's not appropriate. Bring it out in an Asian restaurant and people will be impressed. Bring it out at a fancy non-asian restaurant and you'll just look like some weeabo retard with his anime eating sticks.

Learn some fucking restraint, gaijin
