I get surgical towels from work. They have an expiration date and are typically rotated before use. Drying the lettuce leaves using the towels as an idea came after acquiring towels, not before. They're also not very expensive secondhand iirc, so I'm uncertain why everyone doesn't use them

>> No.12614230

I bought microfiber drying towels, I have no access to them from a hospital, but they work like a fucking machine when washing dishes. Why do you dry your lettuce? Can you not get your dressing to stick to a moist leaf? I honestly don't understand any of you people. I've made olive oil balsamic and vingerettes that work with normal food. What are you people doing to your salads? Desiccating them for what reason?

After rinsing lettuce you just toss it into a bowl and add your dressing? Sounds like a terribly sloppy way of doing things. Doing a thing well and doing it to the minimum standard are separate things, but I assume you have plenty of experience with the latter.

it's a centripetal colander.
It removes water from anything that fits inside it that is also larger than the drainage holes, and it does it better and faster than a human can.

You can dry pasta, vegetables, anything.

If you hate the salad spinner, you hate colanders.

We don't, that's just you.

I like them, they get salad leaves dry without having to wring them like laundry and crushing them into a mess.
They're also good for the cleaning phase too.

The downside is extra cleaning and extra cupboard space and extra bench space. If you have the space and eat salads and like your salads dry, they're very useful.
