if you want to get into coffee i'd recommend starting with a medium or light roast and then experimenting with if you like cream and sugar

also if you wanna try coffee also consider espresso too the pots arent expensive either but the grinds are somewhat harder to find

>> No.12602394

Buy some good quality medium roast, make it on the stove top if you don’t want to buy a coffee maker (good ones are expensive), and mix with milk and sugar

don't listen to these dairy and sugar retards
go to a nice yuppy or hipster hipster place like at a famer's market or a co-op grocery store and see what they reccomend

Just go to the place in your pic and ask the person at the counter for a good entry level recommendation. Yeah, they'll probably look exactly like all the memes (it's in Portland), but they know what they're doing and half the clientele are yippies so nobody really gives a fuck how out of place you look as long if you aren't wearing a fucking maga hat.

All the cafe drinks you might've enjoyed will have been made with espresso so in order of accessibility here are terms to search for making espresso:
>moka pot
>manual/lever espresso machine
>home espresso machine
>commercial espresso machine (if you're into entertaining)

Most important things to search up to improve coffee flavour:
>whole fresh ground beans
>burr grinder
>extraction (time)
>dose
>arabica vs robusta
>single origin vs blends
>choosing a coffee roast
>milk frothing/milk froth jug (if you're wanting milk drinks)

Things that are popular in your area will be more accessible in higher quality. Find your most local coffee roaster, but supermarket beans are alright when you're just experimenting. Avoid buying more than one month of beans at a time (start with ~250 g packs).

even more accessible coffee brew methods that do not produce espresso (best just black, but if adding milk; heat but do not froth):
>french press
>pour over/V60

avoid:
>pods/kuerig
>instant
>pre-ground beans
>blade grinders
>sugar (have a milkshake lol, problem with roasting or extraction if you need sugar to make it palatable)

What is it about coffee that makes people who drink it into insufferable faggots

>> No.12606565

>>12605671
Growing and harvesting coffee is a very labour intensive process and having it grown and brewed to produce a great drink requires a fair amount of knowledge and equipment. Because of this, getting a great coffee often comes with either a larger financial or time investment and when people tell folgers drinkers this they take it personally. Same with anything where there is relatively significant investment to go from "barely ok" to "didn't even know this was possible".

How is it I can get away with spruiking grass fed organic beef as much better than factory farm beef, and people will either agree or nod with a grimace at least (knowing factory farmed is trash deep down), but if I do the same for coffee i am an "insufferable faggot"?
