I'm the poster you were referring to. Cornflakes have a better flavor than panko, plus they toast up really well, and a box of plain cornflakes is cheap and convenient. Try it, I promise you'll like it much better than panko. I use panko for other dishes, but for egg noodles, I always use cornflakes.
